Tuesday, July 24, 1855 Died at the residence of her son, Mr. Benjamin Brantley, near Cassville, Georgia, on the evening of the 16th June, Mrs. Sarah Braswell Brantley, at the advanced age of about 96 years. Mrs. Brantley was a native of Chatham County, North Carolina. She was married to Mr. John Brantley of Deep River, about the beginning of the Revolutionary War, and participated with her husband in the perils and events of the contest which secured the freedom and liberty which is now so highly prized and enjoyed by numerous offspring. She was for more than 80 years a member of the Baptist Church.
