1787 - Britton Brassell to Joakim Hudson


THIS INDENTURE Witnesseth that I Britain Braswell of Anson County and State of North Carolina for and Consideration of the sum of thirty Pounds Lawfull Money and sd. State to me in hand paid by Joakin Hudson of the County and State aforesaid at and before the Sealing and Delivering these presents the Receipt and payment whereof I hereby Acknowledge that I the sd. Britain Braswell Bargained Sold and Delivered and by these Presents Do Bargain Sell and Deliver unto the sd. Joakim Hudson a tract or parcel of Land Lying and being in county of Anson and State aforesaid Containing one hundred Acres of Land Granted to Benjamin Braswell the fourteenth Day of October 1783 and from him Conveyed to Britain Braswell 1785 Lying and being in the County of Anson On the So. Wst. Side of Pee Dee River on pelhams Fork Begining at a post oak in Nathaniel Bybys (?) line and Runs with the said Bybys line No. 80 Wst. 15 Chains Crossing of sd. fork to a Red Oak the so. 45 Wst. 19 Chains to a post oak then So. 27 Chains to a Red Oak the No. 85 Est. 6 Chains to Nathan Braswell Corner post Oak then with the Said Braswells line Est. 6 Chains to Nathan Braswell Corner post Oak then with the Said Braswells line Est. 23 Chains Crossing of sd. Creek to a stake in Said Braswells line then No. 37 Chains to the Begining Containing One hundred acres of Land Which Said Land I the Said Britain Braswell Do warrant and forever Defend the said Land unto the said Joakim Hudson his Heirs and assigns forever all the Appurtenances thereunto belonging I the Britain Braswell Do forever Sell and assign and Set over and Defend unto the Said Joakim Hudson his heirs and assigns with the Improvements and Hereditaments thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the sd. Joakim Hudson his heirs Executors administrators and assigns against any kind of Claim or Claims od Any person or persons whatsoever pertaining to Lay any claim thereunto and I the sd. Britain Braswell will forever Defend the sd. Land with the appurtenances thereunto belonging according to Said unto the sd. Joakim Hudson his heirs Executors administrators or assigns forever In manner and as aforesd. in WITNESS whereof I have hereunto Set my hand And affixed my Seal the 11th Day of august in the 11th year of our Independence and in the year of Our Lord - - - - -
