“To all et’a: Whereas et’a Now know yee that I the s’d ffrancis NICHOLSON Esq’r Goven’r et’a: doe with the advice & consent of the Councill of State accordingly give & grant unto William BROWNE one hundred fifty Six acres of Land in the County of Isle of Wight on the South side of the main black water beginning at a point of Land where a pocoson & a branch called Anthony’s Delight meets & soe running up the various Courses of y’e s’d Pocoson to a red Oake m’rked at the mouth of a small branch & thence north thirty four degrees, East Seventy Eight pole to a Hiccory thence South fifty five deg’s East one hund’d twenty nine pole to a Hiccory thence South three degrees East forty pole to a white Oake at the head of the aforesaid branch & soe down the afores’d branch to y’e beginning the said Land being due unto the s’d William BROWNE by and for the transportation of four persons into the Colony whose names are to be in the records menooned under this patent. To have & to hold et’a: To be held et’a Yeilding & paying et’a. Provided et’a. Given under my hand & y’e Seale of the Colony this 28th Day of October Anno Dom 1702
