* Henry Brasel, Cumberland Co., NC 1783

This Indenture made this 18th day of May in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred & eighty Three between Henry Brasel of the County of Chatham and province of North Carolina of the one part and the Executors of Andred Shepherd of Cumberland County and province aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Henry Brasel for & in consideration of the sum of Thirty five pounds hard money to him in hand paid before the insealing & Delivery of these presents except whereof he doth hereby acknowlege himself there with fully satisfied contented & paid hath given & granted bargained sold alineined conveyed & confirmed unto the said executors of Andrew Shepherd deceased one certain tract or parcel of Land Containing two hundred acres lying and being in the County of Cumberland & province aforesaid on fall creek begining at a white oak thence running So 47 w- 179 poles to a red oak thence -- 43 W 179 poles to a pine thence No. 47-- 179 poles thence with a right line to the first Station including where Widow Davises path crosses said line to have & to hold the above
Bargained primises with every part & parcel thereof of him the said Executors forever & the said Henry Brasel at the time of ensealing & delivery hereof am ----fully possesd of the said Land appurtenances thereunto belonging in manner as aforesaid the same being freely acquited exonerated & discharged of all manner of former gifts grants bargains sales leases & releases & all manner of Incumberances whatsoever & I the said Henry Brasell for myself my heirs exrs. --- do covenant & agree to warrant & defend the said tract of land ------ the said exatators together with all improvments - houses orchards & all & Singular ------ --- -- appurtenances thereunto ---------- unto him the Said executors forever against the ------- -------- and Demands of his the said Henry Brasel or any other person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim from by -----him the said HBrasel in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal the day & year
