This Indenture made this 5th Day of June Eighteen Hundred And seventeen Between Jacob Braswell Jur of Nash County and State of No Carolina of the one part and Elias Barrett of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth thay Whereas the said Jacob Braswell is Justly Indebted to John Vick of the County and State aforesaid the full sum of one Hundred & Eighty Two Dollars and thirty two cents with Interest From this Date which the said Jacob Braswell is desirous To ---- and pay unto him the said John Vick now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Jacob Braswell for and In consideration of the sum of one Dollar to him in hand Paid by the said Elias Barrett the receipt whereof he the said Jacob Braswell doth hereby acknowledge he the said Jacob Braswell doth grant bargain and sell unto unto (?) the said Elias Barrett his heirs and assigns forever the following Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County and State aforesd lying on the north side of the Great Branch adjoining the lands of William Walker sion Beckwith & others it being the Land Whereon the said Jacob Braswell now lives To have and to Hold the said Bargained premises unto the said Elias Barrett his heirs and assigns forever } Continued Upon Trust Provided Nevertheless that the ---Elias Barrett or the said John Vick their heirs or assigns Shall Request the same the said Barrett may at any Time after Six months after the date hereof sell to the Highest Bidder for Ready Money after giving Twenty Days Notice by publick Advertisement of the above named Land - and the money ensuing from Such Sale Satisfy And pay unto the said John Vick his heirs and assigns the above named sum of one Hundred and Eighty two Dollars and Thirty two Cents with Interest from this Date it being the amount of a note of Land and Interest that the said John Vick has in possession given him by the said Jacob Braswell Together with charges attending the Recording this Indenture and all other Expense that may arise from such Sale or be Incident thereto & the overplus of the money If any to be paid by the said Elias Barrett unto him the Said Jacob Braswell or his Order In Witness whereof the Said Jacob Braswell and Elias Barrett Trustee have here unto set their hands and Seals} Jacob Braswell {Seal}
