1796 - James & Frances Braswell

This Indenture made this 14th Day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six Between James Braswell & Francis his wife of the County of Edgecombe of the one part and Nathan Whitehead of the County of Nash and State of North Carolina of the other Witnesseth that the said James Braswell & Frances his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty five pounds Currency in hand paid by the said Nathan Whitehead before the ensealing & Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof they do hereby Acknowledge and hath given granted Bargained sold and Delivered over unto the said Nathan Whitehead his heirs & assigns a certain Tract or parcel of Land lying & being in the said County of Nash Containing sixty Three Acres more or less & bounded as follows (to wit) Begining at a Hickory in the said Whiteheads own line thence North along his line to a red oak in Pitts line thence by his line East 160 poles to a black Oak thence Down the stoney branch and the various courses thereof to a black oak thence by a line of marked trees to the Begining with the appurtenances thereunto belonging and every part and parcel thereof - To have and to hold to the said Nathan Whitehead his heirs and assigns and the said James Braswell & Frances his wife doth hereby agree to warrant and Defend the Title and property of the above granted Land & premises unto the said Nathan Whitehead his heirs & assigns forever. In Witness whereof they have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals according to the Date above written Signed & Delivered in the presence of Wm Hall
