Dear Nona,
We corresponded several years ago about the BRASWELL and WILLIAMS families and I wanted to see if you have made some progress on these lines.
If you recall, my wife’s grandmother was Addie Lena BRASWELL who passed away in July 1989 at the age of 106. Her grandfather was Sampson BRASWELL who married Priscilla WILLIAMS.
I saw an entry which you submitted for the LDS Family History File which said that the mother of Priscilla WILLIAMS was Lucreasy BRASWELL. If that is correct, it really interconnects the WILLIAMS and BRASWELL families.
I did obtain a copy of the Braswells Across America book by Dr. R. B. Braswell. Although it contains a lot of data about the BRASWELL family (poorly organized in my opinion) it doesn’t not shed any light on the parents of Sampson BRASWELL.

Comments from Nona: Subscriber Bill Hunt of St. Louis, Mo, is also descended from this line and my ancestor, Priscilla WILLIAMS’ brother, Samuel also married into the BRASWELL family. Ruby King recently discovered the identity of Sampson’s parents.
[Please note that incorrect information about this line was published in R. B. Braswell’s book. This emphasizes the need to verify all information.]
