James Braswell, Nash Co., NC, 1854

State of North Carolina}
Nash County} This Indenture made this ninth day of December A.D. one thousand Eight hundred and Fifty four between James Braswell of the County of Franklin & State aforesd of the one part and Exum Braswell, Arthur Braswell, and Mariah Braswell (children of the said James Braswell) of the County of Nash & State afsd of the other part Witnesseth that the sd James Braswell for and in Consideration of the natural love and affecton which he has and bears unto the said Exum, Arthur & Mariah and also for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to him in hand paid by the said Exum, Arthur & Mariah at and before the sealing and delivering hereof the receipt whereof whereby acknowledged have given, granted, aliened and confirmed and by these presents do give, grant, alien, and confirm unto the said Exum, Arthur & Mariah & their heirs all the right title claim & Interest which I have now or may hereafter have in & to the Estate both real & personal of my deceased brother Dempsey Braswell reserving to myself the sum of Fifty dollars to be paid to him by the Exrs or admr of said Estate the right & title to which said Estate with the exception of the fifty dollars reserved Warrants & promises to defend to his children as aforesaid to them their heirs and assigns forever - free from the claim or claims of any & all persons whatsoever In testimony of all which the said James Braswell hath hereto affixed his hand and seal the day & date above written.
