* Braswell, Gurley & Boon



It's interesting that Joel Gurley sold land to Jacob Braswell before he went to Surry County North Carolina with Ratliff Boon. John Braswell, with wife Hannah, show up in Surry County the same year.

1761 - October, Ordered that Joel Gurley sone of John Gurley Mark be...recorded which is a crop on the right Ear & a 9 blurred in each. (Johnston Co., NC p. 41 JCCM v.1)

1768 - August 12, George Gurley Sr of St. Luke Parish. Leg: loving wife, son George, son John, daughter Mary West, daughter Fathey Sellers, grandson George Edwards, residue of estate to George Gurley Jr and Ann Edwards. Ex. Son George Gurley. D. 1778 - November 12, John Brassel 400 acres in Surry Co., NC.

1782 - Surry Co., NC Tax List side by side Joel Gurley, Thomas Boon

1782 - Surry Co., NC POA to Spencer Ball from David Humphries to make a deed to Joel Gurley and Ratliff Boone, one tract, 200 acres whereon Joel Gurlley now lives, 200 acres whereon Ratliff Boone now lives, 50 acres called Hollow Spring, adjacent to Boone's tract all on Rutledge Creek.
