* Henry Brasel, Cumberland Co., NC 1771

(Page 274) This Indenture made this 3rd day of February in the year of Our Lord 1771 - Between James Neal of the County of Orange and Province of North Carolina of the one part and Henry Brasel of the said County and Province aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said James Neal for and in consideration of the sum of 15 pounds Proclamation Money to him in hand paid before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith fully satisfied contented and paid hath given granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed conveyed and confirmed unto the said Henry Brasel One certain tract or parcel of Land containing 200 acres lying and being in the County of Cumberland and province aforesaid on Fall Creek Beginning at a White Oak thence running South 47 West 179 poles to a Red Oak. thence South 43 West 179 poles to a Pine. thence North 47 East 179 poles then with a rig----line to the first station, including where Widow Davis path crossed said line - To have & to hold the above Mentioned bargained premises with every part and parcel thereof to him the said Henry Brasel his heirs and assigns forever and I the said James Neal at the time of the sealing and delivery hereof am lawfully possessed of the said land with its appurtenances thereunto belonging in manner as before said the same being fully acquitted exonerated and discharged of all Manner of former gifts grants bargains sales leases and releases and all manner of incumberances whatsoever and I the said James Neal for my self my heirs executors administrators do covenant and agree to warrant and defend the said tract of Land unto the said Henry Brasel together with all improvements houses, orchards and all and singular the premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the said Henry Brasel his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of him the said James Neal or any other person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim from by or under him the said James Neal. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written the quit rents to our Soverign Lord the King (Page 275) only excepted.
