* Richard Braswell & Carver Sons 1756

To all to whom these presents shall come Richard Braswell of the County of Bladen & Province of North Carolina Planter know ye that the said Richard Braswell for & in consideration of the natural Love & Affection which I have & bear to my beloved Son William Carver of the County & Province aforesaid Planter as also for & in consideration of the sum of 5 shillings Proc money to me at & before the ensealing & delivery hereof, the receipt hereof I do hereby acknowldege & hereof & therefrom & of & from every part & parcel hereof do forever acquit release exonerate & discharge the said William Carver his heirs executors administrators & assigns & every of them by these presents have given granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released & confirmed & by these presents do give grant bargain sell alien enfeoff release & confirm unto the said William Carver his heirs executors administrators & assigns forever the Negro Slave following Viz Joe a lad of 17 or 18 years of age & the reversion & reversions remainder & remainders rents & profits & also all my right title interest use trust property benefit claim & demand whatsoever of me the said Richard Braswell of into & out of the same To have & to hold the aforesaid negro slave named Joe unto him the said William Carver his heirs & assigns forever & to & for the only proper use benefit & behoof of him the said Wm Carver & his heirs & assigns forever more & to & for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever & I the said Richard Braswell the aforesaid Negro Slave herein & hereby conveyed a meunt mentioned or intended so to be unto him the said William Carver his heirs -c. against me the said Richard Braswell & my heirs & assigns & all & every other person & persons whatsoever claiming or to claim by from or under me them or any of them & against all & every other person or persons whatsoever shall & will warrant & forever defend by these presents In Witness Whereof I the said Richard Braswell have hereunto
set my hand & seal this 7th day of August 1756
