Sampson & Elizabeth Bracewell, Laurens Co., GA 1818

This Indenture made the 31st day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen between Sampson Braswell and his wife Elizabeth Braswell of the State of Georgia and Laurens County of the one part and John R. Irvine of the Same place of the other part Witnesseth That the Said Sampson Braswell and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the Sum of Eight hundred dollars the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged have and do by these presents give Grant Bargain Sell and Convey unto the Said John R Irvine his heirs and assigns a certain parcel of land (to wit) One tract of three hundred Acres More or less which was originally granted to John Stokes and by him Conveyed to Deoctson Davis and from him to Benjamin Harrison and by him to Sampson Braswell by deed the 26th day of April 1803 And to the said parties of the one part as Legatees of the Sampson Braswell now Decd And One other piece or part of a Tract which was the property of Gideon Allen & by him And his heirs conveyed to Bryan Allen Containing ninety six Acres being all the land that Bryan Allen possessed adjoining the aforesaid tract of 300 Acres and bounded Northwardly by Daniel Lawson's land And West by Oliver's land the whole containing three hundred and sixty Six Acres be the same more or less Situate lying And being in the Said State of Georgia & Laurens County on the Waters of big creek and Allen's Mill creek To him the Said John R. Irvine his heirs And assigns To have and to hold the Said bargained Premises with their and every of their right numbers priviledgs and appurtenances to the Said Premises belonging or in any wise appertaining To him the Said John R Irvin his heirs And assigns to his and their only proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee Simple And by the Said Sampson Braswell and Elizabeth his wife for themselves their heirs Executors or administrators the Said land and Premises to him the Said John R. Irvine his heirs And assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend from the lawful claim or claims of any person or persons Whatever by Virtue of these Presents In Witness whereof the Said Sampson Braswell and Elizabeth his wife hath here unto set their hands and Seals the day and date first above Written Signed Sealed Acknowledged and declared in Presence of the Words from the lawful claim or claims of any Person or Persons whatever interlined before Signed

NOTE: Sampson Braswell deceased is the son of Richard Braswell III & Elizabeth Bryant of Edgecombe Co., NC
