Sampson Braswell, Nash Co., NC 1806

This Indenture Made This Fifth Day of December in the Year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred Six Between Sampson Braswell of the County of Nash and State of Northcarolina of the one part & Benjamin Whitfield of the County & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Sampson Braswell For and I consideration of the sum of Twelve Hundred & Fifty Silver Dollars to me in hand paid by the said Benjamin Whitfield the Receipt whereof I the said Sampson Braswell doth hereby acknowledge & myself fully Satisfyd conttented & paid Have Granted bargained sold and conveyed unto the said Benjamin Whitfield his Heirs & assigns for ever a certain Tract or Parcel of land In the said County on the north side of Pigbasket Creek Containing By Estimation and Survey Six Hundred & Eight Acres & Bounded As follows. Beginning at a Elm on the sd. Creek & Runing nearly East a line of Marked trees 88 po. to a Hickory thence Nearly East 94 po. to a pine thence near north 22 po. to a Stake thence East 53 po. to an Oak thence north 27 po D East 131 po. to an Oak thence north 1 D West 204 po to a pine thence South -9-.122 po to a pine thence South 2 D East 130 po. to a Black oak thence nearly West 72 po. to a black oak thence Nearly South 37 po. to Ellens corner in the Branch thence down The branch to Ellens old line thence south along Ellens line 2 D West to a stake thence south ----West 226 pole to a pine thence South 3d East 73 po. to said Creek thence Down the Various Course of said Creek to the Beginning it being the hole of the land which my Farther Samuel Braswell Bequeathed to me in his last will an Testament to have And to hold the said Land an premises with all the ways water Courses and all improvements thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining thereto and I the said Samson Braswell myself my heirs & the sd Land and premises to the said Benjamin Whitfield his Heirs and Assigns for Ever shall and will Warrant & for Ever defend by these presents In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my Seal the Day and year above Written
