In the name of God Amen I Phereby Brassell being old and infirm of health and badly strenth(?) but of sound mind disposing memory and calling to mind the uncertainity of life and the certainty of death I do therefore make and publish this as my last will and testament here in after named, to wit, First I do give and bequeath unto my daughter Mornin Sadler and her lawful heirs all the right and title I have in and to a negro girl Evaline and her increase if any there be which said Evaline was given me by my father Sherwood Evans after the death of Appy Brassell. I do declare this to be my will and last testament to which I set my hand and seal this the 8 of November 1849.
